Two Dimensional

Two dimensional shapes only have height and width, and are flat. They are often referred to as 2D shapes.. There are many different two dimensional shapes.

Polygons

A polygon is a close figure with three or more line segments. The number of sides that a polygon can have goes on forever!

Polygons by Sides

Three- Triangle

Four-Quadrilateral

Five-Polygon

Six-Hexagon

Seven-Heptagon

Eight-Octagon

Nine-Nonagon

Ten-Decagon

Triangles

Types of Triangles by length of sides:
Equilateral- the sides are three equal lengths

Isoscles- two fo the sides are equal in length

Scalene- all of the sides have different lengths

Types of Triangles by angle size:
Right- one of the three angles measures to be exactly 90 degrees

Acute- all angles measure to be less than 90 degrees

Obtuse- one angle measures to be greater than 90 degrees

Quadrilaterals

Quadrilaterals are polygons that have four sides. There are various types of quadrilaterals including:

Square

Rectangle

Rhombus

Parallelogram
